Rescue “Kitten” Turns Out to be a Wild Puma
People who care for rescue animals have to be prepared for surprises. Florencia Lobo and her brother are no exception, taking in what they thought was a kitten, only to find out he is a puma!
The pair discovered two abandoned baby cats near Santa Rosa de Leales, Argentina, and assumed they had lost their mother. So they decided to take the “kittens” home and care for them, but only Tito survived.
Two months later, Lobo took Tito to the vet for a check-up, and, as it turns out, Tito is actually a puma jaguarundi! This type of wild cat is native to the Americas, usually grows twice as large as a domestic cat, and hunts for ground-feeding animals at night.
