Watch the 378.3 ft (115.3 m) USS Detroit get side launched into the Menominee River on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014. USS Detroit (LCS-7) is a Freedom class littoral combat ship of the United States Navy and the sixth ship to be named after the city of Detroit, Michigan.
The ship has a displacement of 2.862 tons (full load), a top speed of 45 knots (52 mph; 83 km/h), a range of 3,500 nmi (6,500 km) at 18 knots (21 mph; 33 km/h) and an endurance of 21 days (336 hours). [source]
