It’s a good thing that news stations keep archives because you never know when a real gem like this will turn up.

A production manager named Matt Liddy at TV station WCCO in Minneapolis was doing research about a local teacher’s strike in 1970 when he came across footage of musician Prince as an 11-year-old offering his opinion on the strike.

Liddy was pretty sure he had unearthed something pretty amazing but the boy’s name was never mentioned in the interview. So he worked with reporters and a local historian named Kristen Zschomler to make sure it was indeed Prince in the video.
