Summer Camp Staff Went On A Quick Trip To A Convenience Store, But An Exchange With Another Customer Left Them Reeling

We’ve all made this one mistake – or at least, been subject to it.
You’re in a store and you ask an employee a question… before realising too late that they’re not actually a customer at all.
Sure it’s sometimes a little embarrassing, but we just apologize and then find an actual employee.
Right?
Well the woman in this story was once mistaken for an employee of a store – but the guy’s response upon finding out that she was a customer too was less than kind.
Read on to find out what happened.
An entire staff of non-employees
During college, I worked summers at a scout camp.
We had a few rotations of uniforms, including t-shirts that were very Scout summer camp that also had printed upon them the word “staff”.
Well, on weekends some of us enjoyed heading down to town, and sometimes we would just wear the staff camp shirts because why the heck not, we didn’t always want change after the Saturday morning clean up.
But this choice led to one particular predicament.
So about half a dozen of us happened to be in the local little ‘everything’ store, when a man asked one of us for help finding something.
We clearly were not employees, but this response infuriated the guy to the point of yelling.
I – being the college girl who had kind of taken over as resident mom for some of the younger staff members – had to rushed a couple them out of the way.
Let’s see what happened next.
Yes, actual management got involved, and tried to explain the difference in the staff uniforms, a polo vs a very summer camp-esque t-shirt.
Nope.
Crazy man insisted that no one wearing the word “staff” should not be allowed in another store, let alone around six of them.
Wow, this guy really was serious.
Should the staff remove their shirts before they go literally anywhere than the camp that they work at?
That’s crazy thinking – obviously their summer camp t-shirts weren’t staff uniform in the store.
Let’s see what the Reddit community thought about this.
This person thought the situation said a lot about the guy involved.

Though others thought the number of staff t-shirts might have been the problem.

Meanwhile, this Redditor saw the opportunity for a pun.

Seriously, this guy overreacted.
Sure, he might have been confused, but if he’d simply accepted his mistake and apologized, none of this would have needed to happen.
Instead, he got mad, and that’s not okay.
Just accept your mistake and move on!
