Ugh…we’ve all had to deal with folks like this at work at one time or another.

I’m talking about someone who causes all kinds of issues…but nothing is their fault…

EVER.

In today’s story, a worker talked about a guy they work with who needs to take a serious look in the mirror if he wants a dose of reality.

Coworker who IS the problem thinks everyone is unfair.

“I work with someone who is constantly complaining…when he’s the problem.

He’s difficult to work with and aggressive in how he speaks, and then complains that management doesn’t like him.

He used to vent to me before but now I feel super uncomfortable because I have a great relationship with management.

He tells me that’s because I have favoritism and leeway and he is treated differently.

Nothing is ever this guy’s fault…

Framing it this way makes him think he isn’t the problem and invalidates my work ethic.

I get the same scrutiny, but I don’t lash out, I accept feedback whereas he feels as though he’s being cornered.

This perception of his is causing friction between us where he thinks I have more favoritism at work.

He takes out frustration he has at management on me because I’m his “peer” …how should I approach this?

This guy sounds like a real pain in the neck.

I feel so uncomfortable being his sounding board for complaints and now I’m getting the perception that he resents me often, directly telling me I’m not competent.

I’ve ignored it, but it’s getting to the point where he’ll say things like “no point in explaining this to you” when I just try to say I don’t believe his perception of favoritism.

It’s so exhausting when someone at work reframes everything when THEY are causing issues.”
