It’s hard to feel comfortable in your own home when someone else keeps making things hard for you.

One woman is dealing with that after letting her brother-in-law move in with her and her husband.

In an attempt to help him out, they even moved into a bigger house so he could have his own bedroom and bathroom.

Since then, though, she says the mess has gotten out of control and talking to him hasn’t changed anything.

Now, she’s tired of cleaning up after him and dealing with the smell spreading through the house.

My brother-in-law (my husband’s younger brother) has been living with us for a few months now.

Back in January, I agreed to let him move into our two-bedroom apartment. It was already pretty cramped, and we were planning to move into a bigger place anyway.

In April, we moved into a three-bedroom, two-bathroom house so he could have his own bedroom and bathroom.

Since then, things have gone drastically downhill.

They’ve tried talking to him, but he doesn’t listen.

He’s a complete slob. He doesn’t clean up after himself or respect our home. I stay up late every night resetting the house and cleaning the kitchen, only to wake up to food spills, trash on the floor, dirty dishes, and new messes everywhere. It feels like a complete lack of respect.

The bathroom he uses is absolutely disgusting, and he refuses to do his laundry, so his bedroom reeks. The smell is starting to spread through the rest of the house.

We’ve talked to him about cleaning up after himself, but nothing changes. At this point, I’m exhausted and frustrated, so I want to tell him it’s time to move out.
