Don’t play around with a worker’s money!

Because if they’re expecting a nice bump in pay and it doesn’t come through, well, let’s just say that there are going to be repurcussions.

He wasn’t playing around when his bonus didn’t come through and he explained what happened next.

Called out my district manager in a resignation letter.

“I worked for a major bank as a branch banker for 12 years.

My district manager withheld my quarterly incentive, and I was notified a week before the paycheck. When I was notified, they delivered the news through a virtual meeting and didn’t even have the audacity to turn on their camera.

This is not okay!

I took that personally especially because my bonuses were the highlights of my year as an employee.

Employee Appreciation is utter garbage.

It is a time where upper management sends out the same email every year saying, “I appreciate everything you do” which they don’t.

It was time to go…

I found a new job, and I put in my resignation.

I put in my resignation 3 weeks out because the day I turned it in, my district manager was going to do a visit. She wanted my manager to put me on formal warning because my performance was only slightly above average.

My manager got HR to withhold the formal since the areas that my informal was based on had improved to sufficient levels. I knew my district manager was not going to like that which is why I did not wait for my manager to get chewed out for protecting me.

I knew that my resignation would be effective immediately, and with it being greater than 2 weeks, they would discuss either I wait to turn in my resignation or to change the date.

You got it!

The district manager sent me home immediately without consulting anyone. 3 weeks of paid notice leave.

Woo.

Then, after all my system access was revoked, I got a call from my branch manager saying that the district manager changed my resignation date to a week earlier. So I would have 2 weeks paid and one week unpaid before I start my new job.

HR told me to request it to be changed. If they do not change it or get no response, I was told to call back. After 3 business days, I have not gotten a response. Yesterday, my branch manager was fired for “performance” without ever receiving a formal warning.

I called HR today , and they told me that only my branch manager (or district manager) can change the date.

I submitted an HR dispute but this feels like retaliation.”
