If you work at a hotel, you see people from all walks of life.

And you have to deal with all kinds of problems.

Loud people, rude people, scary people…and a whole lot of WASTED people.

The front desk worker who wrote this story talked about a night he had at work that he won’t forget about anytime soon.

Hang on tight. This is a wild one!

Playing the “bad guy.”

“I work night audit at my property and have had my fair share of 911 calls but this one bothered me a tiny bit.

Nothing disturbing.

I received a call from a guest room that a woman was wandering around one of the floors looking lost and intoxicated.

I went up to see what was going on and found the woman rolling around the floor in the hallway and bumping into the wall.

Uh oh…

I asked if she was okay and she muttered something incoherent.

I asked if she wanted me to call an ambulance and she stood right up like nothing was wrong, said “no I’m okay” and walked down the hall to a room and went in.

Okay cool, really strange but seemed like she would manage just fine, walked off in a mostly straight line, just seemed very wasted.

Sometime later other guests returned from a night on the town, intoxicated enough to be slurring speech a tiny bit. They wanted to buy some beers to close off the night but feeling weird about what I just saw I denied alcohol sales for them.

What was going on in this place?!?!

Maybe 2 minutes later another different guest called about a woman passed out on the floor in the hallway.

I went up to check and the same woman was now passed out on a different floor, not responding to anything.

Called 911 this time, she woke up while waiting for the ambulance and started cursing me out for ruining her buzz.

Medics came out and checked on her, they decided probably not a critical risk at that time and likely didn’t have any other substance in her system. They helped her to her room after verifying location and ID with me.

Wow…these people are really something…

Intoxicated dudes came back down as ambulance was leaving, trying to buy booze again and real angry I wouldn’t sell them any.

Told them I’m not calling another ambulance tonight.

They tossed some choice insults then got quiet after that, got some chips and went back upstairs.

I’m fairly confident I did everything right.

He thinks the hotel guests should’ve done more.

If she hadn’t gotten up right away the first time I would have called paramedics then.

The other intoxicated guests probably could have handled another beer just fine I’m sure but I was just a bit freaked out and really didn’t want to deal with it.

Also a bit annoyed that guests who saw a woman unconscious on the floor didn’t think to just call emergency services or try to check on her right then and there.

Not sure how true the bystander effect is but I’m confident if I wasn’t working and I saw that I probably would have done the same things I did, instead of waiting for an employee to make that decision.

At least they called me instead of doing absolutely nothing about it.”

What a night this guy had!

People really have to learn how to handle their booze.

This was amateur hour!

There’s never a dull moment in this hotel!
