Man Mentored A New Co-Worker When She Started, But She Removed Him From A Project After Becoming His Manager

I understand that office politics can shape how things play out at a company, but what the heck ever happened to loyalty?
I have a feeling that’s what the guy who wrote this story has been asking himself over and over again.
Take a look at why he feels like he got stabbed in the back by a co-worker who he helped out tremendously.
Got betrayed by my colleague right after they got promoted to a management position.
“I am a senior in what I do, I’m a hardcore anti capitalist, and I deeply distrust corporate and management for a variety of valid reasons.
Here is my recent experience. I hope after reading it you don’t repeat my mistake.
Three years ago, a new colleague joined our team as an intern I took her under my wing, mentored her, and helped her resolve every technical issue she faced.
He went above and beyond…
Most importantly, I gave her 100% emotional and professional support whenever our manager put her under extreme pressure I even went out of my way to fix her mistakes to protect her and taught her to prioritize her wellbeing over productivity.
Over those three years she learned about my far left political leanings, so as so I once told her that corporations do not care about either of us, so we worker need to stick together and look out for each other (by that I meant I would always support those who is targeted by corporate management).
Eventually, she told me she had been offered a promotion to project manager she admitted she felt uncomfortable taking it because I deserved it more than her and that she lacked the experience and certificate to do the job.
Go for it!
And as strange as it might sounds that she had been hand picked by the very same senior project manager who used to give her hard time, so of course I instantly told her and without any hesitation “I’m happy to have you as my project manager, you will do great, and will do the right things, I support change and progress”.
Oh, boy, that didn’t work out…
One month later, right before starting her first project, she removed both me and another left leaning colleague from the entire business unit.
Her excuse was that she felt and I quote her “I saw that you weren’t happy, so I wanted to help you by not including you in this new project”.
Now, I am stuck waiting, fully expecting to be fired since they are revoked my work from home agreement and are using other mobbing tactics against me so that I quit willingly.
The lesson I learned from this is that liberal colleagues are not your friends.”
