To a rational, decent person the way to get ahead is to perform really well.

But to some people, their aim is entirely different. See why this worker and his bully teammates both have different motives.

They go after people who are genuinely talented

It seems to me that if you are genuinely talented and, on top of that, a happy and kind person, a narcissist will come after you viciously.

It’s like they become obsessed with your destruction. They want to see you fall flat on your face.

This sounds very familiar based on the narcs I’ve known. They all seemed unhappy.

It really all boils down to envy. Happy, healthy people simply do not act like a narc acts. Why? Because they don’t have to.

They have enough self-esteem and self-regard to not have to hate others, sabotage others, or steal from others.

They have boundaries in place. Narcs have nothing and are nothing inside, so their whole lives are dedicated towards reaching into the lives of others and destroying them.

Whenever I feel a narc getting to me, I remind myself that they are just insecure little trolls.

A narc cannot just let you be, because if they did that, they know you’d just continue to outshine them and basically make a mockery of them.

That’s a narc’s worst nightmare, to be shown for who and what they really are and how they really operate (malicious scheming).

They are bad and diseased and they know it. So they absolutely cannot allow you to forge ahead with your genuine talent and personality because it shows them up. And they will do literally anything to prevent that.

Here is what folks are saying.

This made me laugh. I’ve definitely known some naive narcissists in business.

I’d start looking for a new job. Being warm at work gets you through the day.

It does take a while. I’m still healing from ridiculous narcs.

That’s how I was lured, too. It got better when I started asking for more money.
