Some entitled people treat “no” as a suggestion.
So when one woman who repeatedly told her brother she was done babysitting found him calling to announce his kids were already on their way, she told him to turn around.
And if he refused, she threatened to involve the authorities.

AITAH for not wanting to babysit for my brother anymore?
My brother (29M) has a habit of dropping off his kids (3F and 7F) without calling or even asking me if it’s okay to do so.
She’s tried to set boundaries with him before, but he doesn’t seem to care.
I told him several times that I don’t want to babysit anymore, yet he still continues to drop them off before I have the chance to protest.
Recently my friends and I made plans to go out for the evening, and just as I was heading out the door my brother called.
He actively expects her to drop everything to help him out.
I answered and told him I was on my way out and wouldn’t be back until late into the night.
He scoffed and told me, “Well that’s too bad because I am on my way over with the kids, so you’ll just have to cancel your plans.”
So she lets him know this wasn’t happening.
I told him I was not canceling my plans at all, and that if he did try to leave his kids with me I would be calling the police and child services.
Before he could say anything else, I hung up and went on my way.
Now her brother proceeds to way overreact.
He left me several messages saying I went too far and that family is supposed to help each other out, and that he was hurt I would do that to him.
My only reply was telling him I didn’t care, and that if he ever tried to leave his kids with me again I would still call the police and inform family services — and that I was done being forced to babysit.
AITAH?
You can’t just drop your kids on someone without asking first.
What did Reddit think?
Her brother’s expectations are just plain unreasonable.

This user would wager to bet this brother has never helped anyone else out in his life.

Family also means doing right by your loved ones.

This user thinks it’s time to cut him off from the favors altogether.

He thought her threats were going too far, but she knew it was the only thing that’s actually gotten his attention.
If you thought that was an interesting story, check out what happened when a family gave their in-laws a free place to stay in exchange for babysitting, but things changed when they don’t hold up their end of the bargain.
