It’s tough working in the food industry and relying on tips to survive.

This server has had enough of inconsiderate customers who come in after closing and expect full service, without leaving so much as a dollar for a tip. Fed up and desperate, she’s always on the verge of crying after staying late and getting nothing for it.

I don’t blame her, I would be, too. Read the full story below to understand the plight of most servers, so we can all learn how to treat them with more decency and respect.

Anyone else cry after most shifts?

Just had to stay late after close because people kept coming in. Of course, almost none of them tipped.

It fills me with so much rage and despair that I can only sob.

The owner doesn’t care; he grows rich and fat off our labor while we fight over scraps.

I’m working full 40-hour weeks and only making $900 a month. Why do people feel so entitled to make us stay open AFTER WE CLOSE and then not tip?

Her difficult job, her inconsiderate boss, and the rude customers are driving this woman nuts.

I’m just so tired and angry and just…done.

I keep looking for jobs, but no one’s hiring.

I constantly feel like I’m 5 seconds away from snapping.

I was never an angry person before this, but the vile things I think after my shifts would probably land me in an institution. What is happening to me?

It’s a difficult job, and the pay is terrible. I don’t blame her for wanting to leave. Hopefully, she’ll find something else soon that will value her time and effort better. This is not how loyal employees should be treated. Servers are owed a decent wage without relying on tips.

Let’s read what other people have to say about this.

This one has a lot to say.

No job is worth your mental health, especially not something that pays criminally low.
