It’s pretty amazing how clueless some people can be when it comes to how other folks perceive them.

I guess some people have that special intuition about whether they’re getting on someone’s nerves…

And some people definitely don’t.

Or maybe they just don’t care!

In today’s story, a woman opened up about why her living situation is getting on her last nerve.

Let’s take a look!

My sibling’s partner has overstayed their welcome. How do I go about getting them to leave?

“My sibling currently lives with me.

They’re currently going to school in my city and it just kind of made sense.

We currently do a 70/30 split (I pay the higher half as I am in my career and they only work part time).

I don’t mind having my sibling here at all for the most part, other than the constant struggle of having half of my dishes dirty and in the sink.

Uh oh…

Now, my sibling’s partner needed a place to crash for a what I was told 2-4 weeks. This was back in mid May.

The reason(s) for the partner crashing with is as follows:

– The partner was living with their dad, and their dad needed to move to the opposite side of the country (military I believe)

– The partner refuses to live with their mom due to “toxicity and trauma”. The reason that is in quotations is that is what I was directly told.

– Other relatives are not within the city, so that is an automatic no from the partner

– And they were “completely blindsided” by their dad having to move so suddenly.

Sure, why not…?

Now, of course I didn’t mind at first.

I could afford to feed the extra mouth and it kept my sibling mostly out of trouble.

The problem I am having now is that every time I ask when they’re leaving, I get the ol’ run around from my sister.

“They’re just waiting to hear back from this one landlord” or “end of next week” or something along those lines.

This sounds really annoying!

The partner has not, and will not, contribute to bills. This is starting to inconvenience me and get on my nerves.

I get home from work, brand new milk and eggs are gone on top of pile of dishes in the sink. I go to shower, they’re in the bathroom for the next hour and a half.

I go to do laundry, damp clothes have been sitting in the washer for multiple days.

I will clarify, these issues did not start until roughly a week after they started crashing here.

How to I get them to leave?”
