Neighbors do not always become friends just because they live nearby.

The following story is about a woman who has a neighbor wanting to be friends with her.

However, the neighbor repeatedly showed up drunk and wouldn’t take no for an answer.

She decided to simply ignore the neighbor, but she felt hurt and retaliated by calling the city on her.

Uh oh! I thought she wanted to be friends? Let’s take a closer look!

Neighbor called the city on me because I won’t be her friend

I have a neighbor that used to show up at my house drunk, wanting to be my friend.

At first, I thought it was harmless, and she was just lonely.

She would bring me these art projects as gifts, while being so drunk that she’s slurring and unsteady on her feet.

She’s what I’d call a maudlin drunk, not really sad or happy, but really emotional.

She’d just keep repeating how much she wanted to be my friend.

I’d just nod along until she decided it was time to go home.

This woman started ignoring her drunk neighbor.

Then, the visits started getting on my nerves because she only came over when she was drunk.

And never at a time we could have a real conversation and get to know one another.

And she’d come over at really inconvenient times, like while I was trying to cook dinner.

She would also not take no for an answer.

Anyway, it got old fast, and I just started ignoring her. And I guess that hurt her feelings.

Her neighbor called the city authorities on her for having uncut grass in her yard.

Then, I got laid off a couple of months ago and had to stop paying to have my yard cut.

The grass got really high, and I don’t own a lawn mower. I borrowed a neighbor’s a couple of times.

But I live in Georgia, and it’s summer, and the grass grows really fast.

So she decided to call the city on me to get even for me not being her friend.

It’s not that big a deal, really.I cut the grass again, and there wasn’t a fine or anything.

The entitlement and pettiness just really bothers me. LOL.

I agree, the neighbor’s behavior is laughable. Perhaps she really was hurt that OP ignored her, so she retaliated by calling the authorities on her.

I understand OP’s argument. Her neighbor only visited her while drunk and refused to take no for an answer.

Sounds like that friendship offer came with some seriously unexpected strings attached.

It’s hard to take a wannabe friend seriously when they’re always drunk.
