Respecting a boundary means not crossing it in the first place, not fixing it after the fact with a cheaper substitute.
Father’s Day doesn’t have to be a group project.
He is acting weird, but she needs to tell him to stop if that is what she wants.
For this birthday, the best gift may be the one thing she’s been asking for all along: listening to her.
While this might have been a mean thing to do, it undoubtedly did accomplish her goals of upsetting the other parents.
Sounds like this instance didn’t have a whole lot of bearing on the final destination of this relationship. But it did quicken it.
Her step-daughter is entitled and manipulative, so putting up some boundaries makes sense.
Maybe next year huh?
