Amazing Scenes of Daily Life in Paris in the 1890s with Full Color and Sound

 

Using footage originally taken by the Lumière Company, videographer Guy Jones then restored and speed corrected the black and white footage, adding sound as well to complement the incredible video footage.

Finally, Ignacio López-Francos added colorization to the film using a program called DeOldifty. Below is a timestamp of the locations seen in the video above:

1:37 – Avenue des Champs-Élysées (1899)

3:24 – Passing of a fire brigade (1897)

4:48 – Moving walkway at the Paris Exposition (1900)
5:24 – The Eiffel Tower from the Rives de la Seine à Paris (1897)
