Flying frequently tends to make one either bitter or obsessed with aviation. I fall into the latter category. Visiting Maho Beach in Saint Marteen was always on my bucket list. It's as crazy as it looks — planes landing just feet from a public beach.

At Saint Matrin’s famous Maho Beach, visitors experience the rush of standing directly beneath the landing path of incoming planes. You won’t believe how close they get until you see this amazing video clip taken by Paul Luning.
Arriving aircraft must touch down as close as possible to the beginning of Runway 10 due to the short runway length of 2,180 meters (7,150 ft), resulting in aircraft on their final approach flying over the beach at minimal altitude.
