In this fantastic capture we see Andrew Smith, perched on an outcrop, soaking up the surrounding views of the Blue Mountains in New South Wales, Australia. The mountainous region borders on Sydney’s metropolitan area, its foothills starting about 50 kilometres (31 mi) west of the state capital. Smith said it was about a 5km bike ride on a fire trail to reach this outcrop.

Smith has the amazing job/title of Chief Funster after winning a contest to essentially have as much fun as possible in New South Wales. The job, which also pays him £56,000, started last December and ends in June. His challenge is to show travellers how exciting NSW is as part of the Funster Experiment, and he must continue until he collects 802,000 fun moments – one for every square kilometre of the state. He’s well past the halfway point already.

Be sure to catch up with the latest on Facebook.
