Petty revenge can be OH SO SWEET.
And this story proves it in a major way!
Check out what this Reddit user had to say about how she got even with a mean girl who treated her like garbage back in the day.
I acted like a brat and I don’t regret it.
“About 15 years ago, all my friends had either dropped out of college or graduated, and I returned to college had no friends and felt incredibly lonely.
This was an interesting relationship…
Everyone was younger than me.
I reconnected with a girl I used to know, and we suddenly became close friends.
We were always together.
Since I was a bit shy, I would whisper answers when the professor asked questions, and she would say my answer out loud.
Later, I found out that she was telling some of her friends that I hadn’t managed to finish school, while she had (which was a lie—we were taking the same classes).
She claimed she was helping me out because of that. I also realized that whenever we went out, I was the one paying the bill.
Hmmm…
Even when I didn’t eat or drink anything, I somehow ended up paying.
The last straw was when she claimed that her bag’s zipper was stuck and she couldn’t take out her wallet, so I paid again.
We’re done here!
After that, I cut off contact with her, but I never quite got over it.
I felt completely used, especially at a time when I really needed a friend.
A few years later, I ran into her at the gym.
I was still a broke student, but my mom had moved to the city and was paying for the gym, which was the most expensive and luxurious one in town.
We saw each other in the restroom.
I had finished my workout, but she was wearing a name badge and clearly looked uncomfortable with me seeing her working there.
Here it comes…
With a big, exaggerated smile, I approached her confidently, hugged her, and said, “Hey darling, how are you? Are you coming here to work out too? Good for you for starting to exercise—you’ve gained a lot of weight, you really need it.”
She almost whispered, “I work here.””
