Imagine living in a neighborhood where there’s construction going on across the street. What would you do if one of the construction worker parked his truck in such a way that it made it hard for you to pull out of your driveway without hitting the truck?
In this story, one homeowner is in this exact situation, and talking to the truck owner hasn’t helped.
Let’s read all about it.
AITA for asking a construction crew not to park on the opposite side
There is some construction opposite from my house.
An some dude always parks his truck infront of the driveway on the opposite side of the road. (Not illegal i get that)
But here’s the problem.
Any time I try to leave I wind up almost hitting the truck.
It’s got plenty of dents, probably from a similar cause at a different job site.
I’ve asked them to move but, they refuse saying it’s not illegal and on the opposite side, so it’s out of the way.
Is common sense more important than what’s legal?
I feel like it’s just common sense and that the person should move to avoid a possible accident.
Especially since it’s almost happened several times already.
Am I a jerk for asking them to move?
While it’s not illegal to park there, it sounds like it’s a bad idea to park there if the truck doesn’t want to get hit.
Let’s see what Reddit suggests.
Most people had similar advice.

If it’s not a no parking zone, there’s not much you can do.

This person also assumes OP is a bad driver.

Being careful is all you can really do.

But this person took OP’s side.

The law is not on this homeowner’s side.
