After Years of Neighbor Harassment, She Caught Him Threatening Her on Camera—Then Took Action

There’s only so much harassment someone can take before they decide enough is enough.

One woman reached that point after years of problems with a neighbor who became fixated on her.

After she blocked him, things started to escalate. At this point, he started calling her names, destroying her property, and just plain harassing her every chance he got.

Then, just when she thought it couldn’t get any worse, he started threatening her through her doorbell camera.

Now, she’s filing charges, sending a cease-and-desist, and considering legal action against the landlord for failing to step in.

Read on to see everything that’s been going on.

My male neighbor has one-sided beef with my doorbell camera…

My male neighbor is a guy above 45-ish with Korsakoff dementia, and he has decided to develop a fixation toward me after I deleted him from my neighbors app because he was too intrusive with me, always trying to “help” me and touching my things.

After blocking him on WhatsApp, he called me and told me I was a *****, etc.

How he managed to call me up, I don’t know.

He still calls her names when he sees her.

After that, the stalking and harassing started, destroying my things like my bicycle multiple times, so I had to install cameras and park my bike in front of the camera.

He threw trash next to my garden area, like full-blown microwaves from 3 stories down.

It didn’t end there.

Until this day, years later, he calls me a ***** every time he sees me walking on the streets, and recently he threatened me on my doorbell camera, saying he would knock my head out or whatever not.

She has an upcoming appointment with the police.

I have made an appointment to file charges with the police, and Monday a cease-and-desist will be sent to be delivered by a legal representative (in Dutch, we call it “deurwaarder”) from Tuesday onwards.

I think he is not right in the head, so I don’t think it will help, but it’s worth a try. 🤷‍♀️

We rent from the same social landlord, and as such, by Dutch law I can sue the “social” landlord for not intervening properly. My landlord sucks.

They are supposed to be social/projects/fixed rent, but in my case they are evil capitalists who do nothing and have intimidated me severely.

Upset, she’s suing everyone she can to make it stop.

My municipality and my social landlord have gaslit me like crazy, calling me sensitive and always saying, “It’s so hard to do something.” Meanwhile, the municipality spends thousands on femicide and anti-violence-against-women PR campaigns. Boo! 👎👎

I’m now going all out. I’ve contacted local politicians, sued the municipality, and I’m about to sue the landlord after my plan to give them one last chance to explain what they did to provide me with a safe basis to live in.

I’m just DONE, basically.

Wow! That’s a lot of people to sue!

Let’s see how the fine folks over at Reddit would’ve handled this situation.

It does sound like a nightmare.

Living like that has to be stressful.

Yes! Good point.

Harassment After Years of Neighbor Harassment, She Caught Him Threatening Her on Camera—Then Took Action

It’s definitely time for her to speak up.

This situation sounds like it’s escalating, and given his condition, that’s probably not a good thing.

She needs to make sure to keep pushing the police and the landlord to do what’s right.

And if possible, she may want to consider moving before he deteriorates even further.
