Her Project Partner Did Almost None of the Work—So She Let Her Show Up for a Class That Was Canceled

Almost everyone hates group projects in school. Everyone except those who are lazy, of course.

What would you do if your partner in a group project literally fell asleep at your desk while you were supposed to be doing the work?

That is what happened to the person in this story, so later in the semester, when her partner was sick at home, the professor announced that class was canceled the following week. Instead of telling the partner, she just let her show up and wasted her time.

This is a great form of revenge since she didn’t officially do anything wrong. She just failed to share some information. Read through the full story below and see if you agree.

Group partner fell asleep, so I made her come to school when class was canceled

Me and one other person were doing an in-class group assignment, when about half way through, she lays her head down on my desk and falls asleep (what?!).

What kind of person goes to sleep on someone else’s desk?

Wondering if this is even real life right now, shocked and annoyed, I pretty much just continued working.

I’ve worked with her before and I wasn’t overly ecstatic to get paired with her to begin with. I did all the problems myself except for 4, that I asked after class if she could take care of.

She is not going to get it all done, that’s for sure.

I figured this way I wouldn’t have to do additional homework, and it would make up for her being lazy. She agreed, and later texted me the answer to one question.

OONNEEE question! She said we’ll do the rest next class period (mind you, it was due next class period and we most likely wouldn’t have group time).

Why would she put her name on it?

I didn’t end up doing it for homework, as I had a lot going on and the teacher is pretty flexible when it comes to due dates. So, the next class period rolls around, and right before it starts, she texts me “yeeeaaahhh. I’m not coming.”

Guess who had to end up doing it. Mmhm. That’s right, it was me. I contemplated whether I should even put her name on it, but I didn’t want to mess up her grade, and she did sort of contribute to half at least.

There is no way I would tell her either.

So, turns out, that next class period she missed, the teacher announced that class all of the next week would be canceled.

Guess who didn’t tell her about the cancelations? This girl right here. Wish I could’ve seen the look on her face when no one was there but her for a week straight.

Sorry not sorry 🤷🏻‍♀️

She did more for that girl than she deserved. This is just one of the many stories that make it clear that group projects are the worst.

This is what she should have done.

She should have never put her name on the project. Her parents clearly didn’t care about her grade (or her own), so why put in that effort?

At least the simple revenge she got gave her some satisfaction, but not enough.
