To be fair, her mom sounds tired and sensitive. I truly think sitting down and talking could help, if her mom is willing to listen.
Even if they were upset for a very good reason, leaving her at a gas station is just bad person behavior.
A recommendation should stay a recommendation, not an order.
Just because you interact with someone often and act friendly, it doesn’t mean you’re friends. Coworkers are coworkers.
But it might be too late now. His parents already started it.
It’s just an awkward shift of expectations and boundaries and perhaps they need to all sit as one family and talk.
He doesn’t need to buy gifts to prove anything.
Her sister created an argument for no good reason and should apologize.
We all get our answers in life, one way or another.
