The winners of the first International Drone Photography Contest, organized by social network Dronestagram, were recently announced.

The contest launched 15 May 2014 in partnership with National Geographic and received over 2000 submissions from entrants around the world. The winning authors came from Indonesia, Singapore, Mexico, Bulgaria and France.

There were three prizes awarded by the jury and three additional People’s Choice prizes. They were as follows:
 
Dronestagram & National Geographic Prizes:
1st Prize: 1 drone DJI Phantom 2 + Go Pro Black Edition Camera + 150 €/200 USD offered on a print on canvas, aluminum or plexiglas. Feature in the Newswatch section of National Geographic website + Photo published on National Geographic French edition
2nd Prize: 1 Parrot AR. Drone Elite Edition Sand + 100 €/140 USD offered on a print on canvas, aluminum or plexiglas
3rd Prize : 1 Parrot AR. Drone Elite Edition Sand + 75 €/100 USD offered on a print on canvas, aluminum or plexiglas

People’s Choice Prizes:
1st Prize : 1 drone Blade 350 QX HORIZON + Go Pro Black Edition + 150 €/200 USD offered on a print on canvas, aluminum or plexiglas

Went back to my home town in the Philippines. I was flying in the park one Sunday morning when suddenly people had become really interested with my drone. Looking at this picture, I realized how happy my drone makes of these people.

Football celebration! It is 0:00 AM in the morning. The moment everyone awaited. The eye, as I saw it from up above. In fact, this is the 100th anniversary of one of the two biggest football teams in Bulgaria. After a special game with the legendary Italians from Lazio; the came for the big firework display came up. Along with it, the public was invited to fire up everything that they had… and all together produced this amazing, spectacular image. Wow!
