Artist Transforms Kids Drawings Into Plush Toys
Wendy Tsao brings kids drawings to life by transforming them into amazing plush toys. Wendy made her first toy (which she calls ‘softies’) back in 2007, based on a self-portrait her 4-year-old son had drawn. On her website Wendy explains:
“I am an artist, and I value creativity in all walks of life, including children’s artwork. Every child’s drawing that I see was created with that child’s unique outlook and skill. The drawings are always original and distinct, like children themselves.”
The one-of-a-kind, handmade toys have become so popular, Wendy has been able to launch a small business called Child’s Own Studio. Wendy only takes about 120 orders per year and she is fully booked until June 2015 (see here if you’re interested in joining the wait list).
