Parents who are no longer together and share child custody sometimes find a way to get along in a civil way, but other times, they’re all out enemies.

The parents in today’s story seemed like they were civil enough with their child custody arrangement, but then the ex-husband didn’t like the ex-wife’s answer to a request he made.

Now, he’s not sure what to do when she asks him for something.

Let’s read all the details.

AITA for refusing to give my ex some stroller parts?

So I (M, 35) was with my ex for 8 years. We have an 8 year old kid together and share custody.

We broke up 3 years ago.

Back then we bought an air purifier.

She never worked during our relationship, I paid for everything.

He wanted the air purifier back.

A while ago I asked for it back and she insulted me and said it was hers because “we bought it while we were together.”

Over the years after the breakup we’ve exchanged stuff a few times. Sometimes I asked her for things (usually just to get back stuff I gave her), sometimes she offered me things when I needed them.

So it’s not like it’s always been one-sided.

Now, his ex wants him to give her something.

Now, two months after the air purifier thing, she’s asking me for some stroller parts. Not for our kid (she’s 8 and doesn’t need a stroller), but to have a complete set.

I feel conflicted.

Part of me doesn’t want to keep doing this, especially after how she acted when I asked for the air purifier. Part of me worries she’ll get angry and try to mess with me about our kid, even though we have legal joint custody.

AITA if I say no and don’t give her the stroller parts?

It definitely sounds like he’s weighing the options.

I’d probably vote for giving her the stroller parts instead of stooping to his ex’s petty level.

Let’s see how Reddit reacted to this story.

This person calls the dad petty.

Another person agrees that the dad is being petty.

It’s time to stop exchanging things.

What would happen to the stroller parts if he didn’t give them to his ex?

I can see why they’re no longer together.
