It’s starting…

“I moved to this rental house in March. We have 4 adults, and have 4 cars for a 2 car garage/driveway.

It’s 8 am and I am feeding my dogs when the doorbell rings. I’m expecting an inspection today and don’t know the person who will be coming to do said inspection, but they’re supposed to text ahead of time.

So I open the door.

Oh, boy…

It’s a local Chad, complete with golf shorts, blue collar shirt, and baseball cap. I answer in my literal pajamas.

He asks me if that’s my car, parked a few houses down on the curb. I confirm that it is, asking if I’m blocking anything.

Huh…?

He says that there’s an “unwritten rule” in the neighborhood about parking and that my car is blocking his front door camera’s view of his cars.

I’m tired and I just tell him that I’ll move it today. However my husband and roommate are annoyed about it. I’m usually an easy-going person. But this annoys me.

It’s still a free country!

It’s a public street and no one is allowed to just save parking spots. This isn’t winter in Chicago, after all. Part of me wants to become a pain in the neck. Most of me doesn’t care.
