Sometimes, one rude move is all it takes for someone else to decide they’ve had enough.

In today’s story, we’ll meet a gas station employee who was on break while her coworker handled a busy line of customers.

One man walked past everyone else and tried to leave his credit card so the employees would turn on his gas pump.

When her coworker explained that he needed to wait in line and prepay, he didn’t take the answer very well.

Instead, he got angry and threw his credit card at her.

The time I got to throw a customer’s credit card at them like a shuriken and my manager didn’t mind at all.

Once upon a time, I worked at a gas station.

I was on break, sitting behind the counter while my co-worker was on the till.

It was a semi-busy day, and since we were working in British Columbia, we were just adjusting to the new law where people had to prepay for their gas before pumping it.

The guy acted as if the employees could just hold onto his card.

Sadly, different gas stations had different methods for this, so it could get a little confusing for customers.

Well, this guy came in, walked in front of the line, and put his credit card on the counter, expecting us to turn on the pump for him while we kept his credit card as collateral. Then he started to leave to go pump gas.

My co-worker called out for him to stop and come back for a second. Then she explained that we actually needed to run his credit card through our machine before we could turn on the gas pump, because that’s just how our computer system was programmed.

When he got loud, she stepped in.

She told him he would have to wait in line and prepay like the other customers were doing.

This guy decides to take it personally and says, “Just turn on the pump!” and tosses his credit card at my co-worker.

I get up off my stool, walk over to his credit card on the ground, stand up, and fire it at him like a throwing star and loudly and firmly say, “Get out!”

Manager laughs, co-worker hugs me, man storms out, back to business as usual!

Moral of the story? Don’t mess with my co-workers.

Wow. It’s amazing that the guy actually listened to her.
