How to Film a Good Sword Fight for Movies and TV

by Matthew Gilligan

People get pretty worked up about the various details in the action films they enjoy and the way sword fights are choreographed and filmed is no exception.

In the video above, the folks at Accented Cinema got into the swordfight debate in response to 2017’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The host of the video argues that the Star Wars franchise had filmed better sword fights in past films and that The Last Jedi was a disappointment in that department. He looks to East Asia for inspiration to show viewers how swordfights can be correctly and he sites films such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Harakiri.
