Giant Snow Art Made with Snowshoes by Sonja Hinrichsen
In this wonderful winter project, artist Sonja Hinrichsen led a team of 10 snowshoers to create a giant piece of land art in the fluffy snow of Steamboat Springs on Rabbit Ears Pass. The patterns are reminiscent of crop circle patterns, with concentric circles spreading outwards, connected to each other by solitary lines of snowshoe prints.
While the artwork is temporary, the process and final artwork are immortalized with aerial video and photography by Steamboat Aerials. Be sure to check out the gallery of images below along with two videos that beautifully capture this wonderful art project.
