The Orlando Police Department shared the photo above on Twitter, showing the Kevlar helmet that saved one of their police officer’s life as they engaged in a shootout with Orlando Massacre shooter Omar Mateen.

The horrific event took place this past weekend at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida and is the worst mass shooting in US history.
