Yes, friends, I’m talking about when someone thinks they can stand in a parking spot and hold it for a driver.
Not on my watch!

AITA for taking a parking spot someone told their kid to stand in?
“I am from the United States. My partner and I went to visit Banff, Canada.
We generally try to skip touristy places, but we decided to try out the Banff Upper Hot Spring.
We arrived at the parking lot and it was full. We started to make our first circle around the parking lot to shark for a parking space, and we noticed people at a parking spot packing up.
We put on our blinker and waited for them to leave.
This old trick…
As we pull in, we noticed a teenager standing in the spot, looking like he is reserving it for his people.
I rolled down my window and said , “No, we’ve been waiting”.
I pulled in partially and he moved out of the way.
After parking and getting out of the car, a car pulls up next to us and a mother started yelling at me.
“We’ve been waiting, you jerk! That was our spot”
Oh, boy…
I replied, “We’ve been waiting too. That’s not how it works”.
Her reply was a thoughtful and well worded, “Jerk”, along with a passionate, “Idiot” as she drove away.
AITA for taking the spot as soon as I got into the lot and making the kid move?
I’m not sure if there is different expectations in different countries?
My girlfriend and I were wondering if we were the jerks?
In the US, I feel like spot reserving doesn’t mean anything. You need your car in the spot to claim it.”
