She Made Normal Living Noises—Then Her Neighbor’s Constant Ceiling Banging Turned Her Home Into a Nightmare

All I could picture when I read this story was someone from an old black-and-white movie banging a broomstick on a ceiling to keep those crazy folks upstairs from making all that racket!
But, unfortunately for the woman who wrote this story, this isn’t a movie.
It’s her daily life and she’s sick and tired of her downstairs neighbor acting like a psycho every time she makes even the smallest noise.
What’s a person to do in this kind of situation?
Read on and see what you think about her predicament.
Advice on neighbor constantly banging on ceiling day and night.
“I just got back this weekend with my child after staying at my mom’s for a summer break for 5 weeks.
Gee, sorry to disturb you…
It seems like my elderly downstairs neighbor is mad that were back in our apartment upstairs and is banging on the ceiling and making loud noises when my husband leaves to work for night shift.
I just bought a new rug for the living room so we could dampen the noises in the daytime and he comes home and starts following us around banging on the ceiling at 5 pm while we are trying to go out and do laundry.
His adult son lives with him but the elderly neighbor just got back from Mexico (he rents the place and comes back on the weekday from what I heard but he acts like we can’t walk around the apartment).
We were literally gone for a month…
Give it a rest, pal…
I’m just shocked that its our 3rd day back home and he’s already banging in the ceiling. I have my indoor cameras as proof but sometimes it doesn’t catch the noises…
I also noticed he bangs on the ceiling if we snore at night and if my child is sick coughing. We’ve been here for 6 years and now this year he’s doing all of this banging.
I’ve been trying to ignore it and I never mentioned it to the owners because I feel like I’m just exaggerating at this point….Mind you we can hear him snore too but we use a white noise machine.
This is too much…
So he keeps waking me up for snoring every night since January. I go to my mom’s to get some sleep whenever school break starts because of the constant banging he does.
My husband unfortunately does not deal with the harassment. He says I should ignore it but it’s so constant I feel stressed from it.
I don’t know what to do.
I just want to live in our apartment just like everyone else and not stress.
It’s a 100 year old apartment so we can all hear everyone and its understandable but he is too constant with the banging it startles my son when hes eating.
He’s also autistic. We make sure he doesn’t jump or run.
We try and he’s still doing this.
Help!”
