Those first few years where you live on your own with friends and roommates for the first time is when you really figure out what you can put up with…
And what drives you absolutely insane!
I know it did for me!
And that’s why I’m a hermit who doesn’t like to leave his house…
But enough about me!
Check out why the college student who wrote this story has had enough of her loud roommate.
AITA for telling my roommate to be quiet?
“I am a college student living with three other students in a small one floor apartment, where we share a small living room/kitchen area.
One of my roommates keeps hosting friends over at night multiple weekdays in a row, which has been kind of annoying me because I have classes and work every day and want to be able to relax in my bed at night and sleep without lots of noise.
Yesterday when she had some friends over in our living room (right outside my bedroom) from about 7-10 pm. I asked her if she could be a bit quieter because I needed to call my mom and it was really loud.
She apologized and said she would be quieter, and even though it didn’t get much quieter, I just left it alone.
Here we go again…
Tonight, she also had friends over for the past few hours after saying someone was just dropping by to give her something. I asked her for the second night in a row to be quieter, as I was going to bed and have class early in the morning.
I felt annoying to ask two days in a row and I think she found it annoying too, but I don’t love having random people in my apartment every weeknight when I am a student and would like to rest on those nights.
This isn’t going well…
I know it is her space too and she can be as loud as she wants or invite whoever she wants, but none of my other roommates have been doing this and she hasn’t asked us if it’s okay to keep having people over.
AITA for wanting my roommate to be quiet and stop having friends over?”

Her roommate needs to take a hint and take the party elsewhere!
These roommates are definitely not on the same page…
