A Teenager Sparked an Argument at a Baby Shower—Until an Older Guest’s Scorn Caused It to Instantly Explode

Folks, I don’t usually do this, but I’m gonna go on the record right from the start and say that the teenager who wrote this story sounds like a nightmare.

How I almost fought an adult woman.
“I went to my friend’s (Friend 1) sister’s baby shower and I almost threw hands with a 61 year old woman.
Friend 1’s niece is named Valentine. 61 year old woman is her godmother.
I was sitting at the table with my friends and we all noticed godmother leading Valentine to the sidewalk and toward her car, with nobody giving godmother permission to take Valentine away from the party.
Okay…
I get up almost immediately, not thinking. I confront her, asking her to bring Valentine back to the party and that her mother, friend 1’s sister, didn’t give godmother permission to leave with Valentine.
Godmother gets VERY angry and starts saying “I am 61 and her grandmother, I know what I’m doing! just stop!”
And so I got a bit aggressive, matching her tone I say: “they didn’t say you could take her, bring her back. please.”
Then godmother says “stop!”
And so I say “I’m 15, I know what I’m doing!”, mocking her.
Maybe she should’ve minded her own business…?
She gets angry and speedwalks back into the front yard with Valentine, leaving her there. I’m speaking with 2 and 3 about this now, and we’re giggling. 2 whispers to me: “you weren’t even being disrespectful, what the hell?” and godmother hears.
She whips around so quick and straight up barks at me: “what did you say?!”
And I reply, “we said I wasn’t even being disrespectful.” and then she gets so mad, she’s shaking now and she looks like she’s about to drop her beer.
She starts walking away before I say “I wasn’t even being disrespectful at first” and then she turns and she yells “stop! stop! just stop!”
And she pointed her finger in a dumb way so I mimicked her and laughed. then she ran to her car, probably intoxicated, and sped off.
She was going like 35 mph on a tight street. Oh yeah, that happened!”
