It’s hard to enjoy your home when you can hear everything happening on Ythe other side of the wall.

One UK homeowner learned that after dealing with one noisy neighbor after another since moving in 18 months ago.

At first, it was late-night television, but eventually, that neighbor settled down.

Unfortunately, the new woman next door is even louder, and her voice carries through the entire house.

Now, the homeowner is so fed up that he’s lost interest in fixing up the place he once looked forward to owning.

Read on to see how you would feel about living there.

Neighbor Noise Has Made Me Regret Homeownership

I’ve lived in my house for about 18 months now.

Before that, I lived in various apartment blocks that had thousands of tenants for 10 years. This was in city centers, next to busy main roads, etc.

In that time, I had ONE loud neighbor. I feel bad writing this because I understand homeownership is a privileged position and that my neighbors are probably normal people at the end of the day.

The initial neighbors were loud, but eventually settled down.

The first weekend I moved into this house, there was a problem. I bought a UK terraced house, so we’re all stacked together like pancakes.

My guy was blaring his TV at 3 a.m. until daytime.

This went on for a few months until I eventually spoke to him. He seemed OK but didn’t really get the memo because I had to speak to him again.

He eventually settled down, but only because someone else moved into the house. The only problem is that she speaks at a high volume in the adjacent living room. I made peace with this because I figured at least it’s just one side that’s loud and the other side is relatively quiet.

The new neighbor is louder than three people put together.

Welp, they moved out. Turns out it was under social housing, and literally within 24-hours, they left and someone else moved in.

This new woman is literally the loudest person I have ever come across. Three people lived in that house previously, and the noise was nothing compared to what she makes seemingly on her own.

She just NEVER. STOPS. TALKING. She’s not from the UK, so I assume she’s maybe calling home. Her voice reverberates throughout the whole house. It doesn’t matter what room she’s in.

Now, he doesn’t even like living there.

I don’t like my home anymore.

People have joked that I haven’t finished various jobs or DIY, and the reality is that I don’t give a **** anymore. I don’t feel like I own a home. I feel like I own a room and these neighbors are my roommates. I can’t believe these houses have been built with such atrocious soundproofing. I can hear people SNEEZING.

I know that I’ll probably have to talk to the new neighbor, but it’s so exhausting to have to go through this back and forth AGAIN. I just want peace, and I have no control over it.

Wow! There’s nothing worse than annoying living situations.

Let’s check out what the people over at Reddit think he should do.

Even if we all know what it’s like to have a bad neighbor, it’s never fun when it happens to you.

Sometimes you just have to do your best to deal with it – or ignore it – until one or both of you decides to move on.

Or, you know…the problem gets solved. It always does, one way or another.
