There’s only so much barking one person can take before it starts affecting everyday life.
One homeowner has reached that point after new neighbors moved in with dogs that bark at all hours.
She tried talking to them more than once, but the problem only seemed to get worse.
Eventually, she contacted animal control and started documenting what was happening.
Now, her neighbor is facing two charges of disturbing-the-peace, and she worries the situation will become even more hostile after she faces him in court.
Keep reading for the full scoop.
Nightmare Neighbor with Barking Dogs
I got new neighbors at the beginning of the year, and their dogs have been a nightmare since they moved in.
They bark all hours of the day when they are outside. They bark at nothing most of the time. I feel like they bark just to bark.
I have gone to their home twice. Once in the middle of the night at 11:30 p.m. to ask them nicely to be a kind neighbor and fix their issue. The second time I went over, the guy answered the door and said, “My dogs? My dogs are indoor dogs.”
I thought, well, they are keeping us up at night, and no, they aren’t. Again, I asked nicely if he could fix the situation.
Rather than getting better, it keeps getting worse.
GUYS, IT’S WORSE AND WORSE.
I went to animal control and filed a voluntary statement because I couldn’t take it anymore. We can’t sit in our home and relax. I can’t go out in our backyard without being barked at. I can’t be in my front yard. I can’t turn on the bathroom light without setting them off.
I freaking hate my life right now. It’s really, really wearing on me and testing me.
She’s tried calling just about everybody she can think of, but no one wants to help.
I have called the police non-emergency line several times to help me, but they won’t help.
Animal control kinda laughed at me, saying there’s only so much they can do, and now I am facing them in court September 16th. I guarantee this is going to get much worse.
This whole entire weekend, I couldn’t relax. All they did was bark.
I pay a lot of money to live here. And I feel like I am the only one standing up to them because their dogs bark nonstop, and I can hear them in the bedroom area of our house. I am at my wits’ end. Don’t know what to do. And I can’t really afford to move. I just know it’s going to get worse once I face the neighbor in court.
Frustrated, moving is not an option.
He is being tried for 2 counts of disturbing the peace. He’s already flipped us off. I feel like it’s just a game to him, and he doesn’t give a ****.
I can’t afford a decent home in a decent area of town.
I am recording video of the barking and documenting, but that even gets annoying and so tiring. I am trying to give it to God and really not lose my ****. But I am getting there.
Wow. It sounds like something needs to be done about this.
Let’s check out if the people over at Reddit have any experience dealing with this.
According to this comment, the dogs are trained to bark like that.

Here’s an excellent idea that could work.

This would drive anyone crazy.
She’s tried asking nicely, and that clearly didn’t get her anywhere.
At this point, keeping records and letting the court deal with it may be her best option.
Hopefully, the neighbor realizes this isn’t funny and finally does something about the dogs.
