Just when you think a bad neighbor situation is finally over, another one can move right in.

For nearly seven years, one townhouse owner has watched the rental next door turn into a revolving door of noisy tenants.

Things finally got better when a quieter group moved in, and for a while, he could work from home without all the disruption.

Then they moved out, and a large new group arrived with screaming kids and plenty of noise.

Now, he’s worried he’s about to spend another year dealing with the same problem all over again.

Things were looking

I’m coming up on 7 years of townhouse ownership with my wife.

One neighbor, also an owner, moved in a couple of months after us and has been great. Our dog loves them, and their kid is behaved and quiet for the most part.

The unit on the other side has been a nightmare. The owner rents it out and has had a new, terrible group of tenants move in every year.

Things really took a turn when the new neighbors started moving in.

Things were looking up when our last crappy neighbor moved out, and the renters that replaced them were actually pretty good. Sure, they played occasional loud music, but not enough to complain about.

My mental/physical health and job performance were doing great, because I mostly worked from home in peace.

Recently, found out they were in the process of moving out, and I’ve been a wreck anticipating the worst.

Well, it seems the worst happened today when like 10 people started moving in and being extremely disruptive and loud, bunch of screaming kids in tow.

Now, he’s on the Strata, so he will deal with it accordingly.

Now I’m sitting here having a panic attack because this is going to be my life again for at least the next year.

Thankfully, I recently joined our Strata (HOA) and already sent a note to the president saying I will be aggressively pursuing noise fines, but I know that whatever I do isn’t going to actually help that much.

Don’t need advice, as I’m well familiar with this process. Just really wish I didn’t have to deal with it again. I’d move tomorrow if I could afford it, but I can’t, and there’s no guarantee wherever we went would be any better.
