Sometimes the easiest way to solve a double standard is to just stop playing along.
Her parents either need to start paying her, or start finding another sitter.
Maybe she can choose support while also still choosing herself.
It’s her savings account, not a community fund.
You don’t need to fix anybody’s situation.
Helping out is generous, but being volunteered is not.
A remote job is still a job, not free childcare with Wi-Fi.
Ultimately, she’ll have to accept she and her sister may never see eye-to-eye on this.
No one should be expected to drop all of their responsibilities, even for family.
If these parents want a reliable babysitter, they’ll have to put their money where their mouth is.
