The Serra do Rio do Rastro is cut by Road SC-438, which is characterized by steep climbs and hairpin turns of 180 degrees. It is located in the southeast state of Santa Catarina in Southern Brazil. The main observatory is located 1,460 meters up at the top of the mountain, offering onlookers incredible views. The Road SC-438 is located between the cities of Lauro Muller and Bom Jardim de Serra.
