Temps Hit 119 °F (48 °C) in Phoenix Yesterday and this Deli Nailed It
Temperatures hit a staggering 119 °F (48 °C) in Phoenix yesterday, forcing flights to be cancelled and sending people inside to escape the heat. Meteorologists in Phoenix said Tuesday’s temp has only been matched or surpassed four other times with a record high of 122 degrees reached on June 26, 1990.
The heatwave didn’t stop store owners from getting creative though. Reddit user bmo1234 spotted this daily special sign out front of Tommy Pastrami’s New York Delicatessen on East Washington street.
Fellow reddit user kokriderz added: “this is when my Costco membership pays for itself. I can easy spend 30 mins in their walk in veggie section.”
