The problem with everyone having a cell phone is that your work or family might feel that means you’re always available to them.

But it doesn’t work that way. See how this person is practical about her phone.

AITA for keeping my phone on DND?

I am bipolar and I work from home.

It offends others that I literally don’t see attempts to make contact with me.

She has a very good reason for silence.

Yes I always have my phone in my hand, but I make money from my phone, but that doesn’t mean I’m available.

I get paid by the minute so for me if it doesn’t make dollars it doesn’t make sense. I don’t care about gossip and I don’t care to check in with anyone.

It baffles her that people in her life don’t get this.

I literally live in a bubble but I’m also very generous to my loved ones.

I just want them to respect my hustle and my mental health. Is that too much to ask for?

Here is what people are saying.

It’s a big deal.

So what?

A good compromise.

Ick. Judgy much?

I get where she is coming from, but it’s risky.
