Cashier’s Repeated Pricing Mistakes Frustrate Shopper Until a Coworker Loses Her Patience

Getting overcharged once is frustrating, but having it happen over and over is a whole different problem.
One grocery shopper dealt with that after the same cashier repeatedly rang up more items than she actually bought.
At first, she tried pointing out the mistakes, but the cashier insisted the totals were correct.
Then, after another bad transaction, the shopper went to a different register for help.
That’s when another cashier completely lost her patience over fixing the same employee’s mistakes.
Read on to see exactly what happened.
Cashier scans items multiple times and ****** off other cashier into a cursing storm in front of all the customers.
I have been going to the grocery store by my house for several years. They recently hired a senior to work as a cashier. Nothing against seniors, but this woman seems to not grasp how the scanner-to-computer system works.
The first time I went to her, I had one pound of meat. She scanned it in for four. When I pointed this out, she said, “No, those were taken away.”
So we waited until the receipt was printed. There was a good sale, but it turns out that she charged us an extra 22 bucks. I went to another register because when I tried to point it out a second time, she said it wasn’t true. The other lady helped us out.
Apparently, the woman does that every time they use her.
The last time, my husband was getting some groceries. One of the items was one stalk of celery. Turns out she charged twice for one item and 14 celery. I decided to go back and not even go to her because she just keeps pressing buttons, and I believe she doesn’t understand what she’s pressing.
I waited in line holding the receipt. The manager happened to be nearby, and I told him the situation. He looked annoyed but told the cashier to take care of it. I was still waiting instead of being pushy.
The cashier who was told to refund me threw a fit while taking care of the person in front of me. The whole time, she was cursing up a storm, loudly asking why she should do it, even stopping the lady’s order to complain. She had to ask her to finish. I felt bad for both.
The cashier who had to help was very angry.
The lady in front of me had to wait so long, and the cashier said she was tired of taking care of the other cashier’s mistakes.
When she finally got to me, she was complaining that the other cashier does this several times a day. The manager was nice and gave me the celery for free, as well as the refunds for the overcharging. It was nice.
That angry cashier definitely had enough of it.
They were relieved to get out of the store.
I went out with my husband, and we couldn’t help but go, “OMG.”
Needless to say, the cashier who keeps charging multiples to customers will never be used by us again. She managed to charge us about 50 bucks unnecessarily.
We got it back, but having to go through that each time isn’t worth it. That last time took half an hour to get the refund.
Oh my! Sounds like she needs more training or a different job.
Let’s check out what the readers over at Reddit have to say about the situation.
This person thinks the scanners are too sensitive.

She’s probably had to fix too many of the same mistakes.

That’s not nice.

Good thoughts.

This store really needs to figure out what’s going on with that cashier.
Customers shouldn’t have to worry about being overcharged every time they visit a certain line.
At the same time, though, it’s easy to understand why the other cashier finally lost her patience after constantly fixing someone else’s mistakes.
Still, cursing in front of customers probably wasn’t the best way to handle it.
