Having a stalker in the neighborhood can make you feel unsafe in your own home.
This woman struggled with a neighbor who has engaged in stalking and controlling behavior for years. She had reported this to the police and is now waiting for the investigation results.
This story is more common than we think. It’s relatable to many people who feel unsafe and uncomfortable because someone keeps watching what they do. Read the full story below.
Stalked by male neighbour
For 5 years now, I live here.
Since 3 years, I have been aware I’m being stalked and controlled by a male neighbour of mine further away.
But in the same apartment complex. The reason for his stalking is fixation/control over the apartment building.
Recently, he threatened me, and I filed charges with the cops.
They’re investigating it right now. I gave them really good security footage.
This woman is still waiting for the result of the investigation.
It still will take about 3 weeks untill they have summoned him to the police station.
And give him instructions to avoid my front door and to stop staring at my bedroom window. Yikes!
Has anyone else experienced this? How quickly did the behaviour stop after police became involved?
I live in The Netherlands, by the way.
Having someone stalk you for three years can be really scary! OP must have felt uncomfortable in her own home. It’s good that she was able to collect security footage and report the threats to the police. With the police now involved, the big question is whether the neighbor will finally back off or whether the situation will continue to escalate.
