A Neighbor Kept Blocking His Mailbox—Now the Mail Carrier Is Threatening to Cut Off Delivery to the Entire Block

What would you do if you neighbor parked on the street in front of your mailbox causing the mailman to skip your house when delivering mail? Would you talk to the neighbor or the mailman about the problem?
In this story, one homeowner is in this situation and chases down the mailman’s truck to talk to him. Now, he really needs to talk to his neighbor, but he doesn’t seem too optimistic about how that’s going to work out.

Tired of neighbors parking in front of our mailbox
So I recently took on a major role with a nonprofit and one of my duties is to mail out correspondence to people.
Yesterday early morning I put 3 letters in my mailbox and put the flag up.
Turns out the post office was closed due to the holiday, no big deal right?
They sat there all day and night and this morning. Okay, well, maybe they’re running behind? They typically pick up around 1pm but whatever.
How frustrating!
Well they sat in there all afternoon too and no one came by. I know because we have cameras and can easily check. I also work from home and typically hear the truck when it comes.
Well 7:00pm, after the sun has set, I hear the truck outside. “Great!” I think and step outside just to double check they grabbed the letters and lo and behold! Nope! Flag still up and the guy is almost all the way down the culdesac!
Turns out our effin neighbor had visitors (like they do every damn day!!?!) who parked their big AF truck in front our mailbox! This is typical and seems to happen at least once a week or more!
This could be a really big problem if the neighbors continue to park there.
I chase down the mail truck with the three letters and explain that I’m so sorry but that truck blocking the mailbox is our neighbor’s and I don’t know why they keep parking in front of OUR mailbox but that I NEED these letters to go out.
And the guy’s response? He interrupts me, grabs the letters from me and says, “Not my problem! You’ll have to get your mail tomorrow! I’m already wasting time talking to you now, I’m not gonna get out and take it over there. Tell them not to park there anymore. If this keeps happening, I’m gonna put a letter on both of your addresses to not deliver here anymore and you’ll have to come get the mail yourself!” and then drives off.
I’m completely baffled because again, I understand and it’s not me or anyone at my house blocking the box!
I literally have no control over them.
He’s pretty annoyed with the mailman.
This isn’t even our only issue with them.
They are literally neighbors from hell!
I’m just shocked by the guy’s attitude towards me!
I wasn’t even upset with him, more pleading and asking what can I do to stop them from doing this? Maybe he was having a bad day, I dunno.
He can only think of one solution.
Does anyone have advice as to how to fix this?
At this point, I might just go get a PO Box and use that for mail.
We did that once long ago when we lived in an apartment because the mailboxes kept getting broken into!
A PO Box is definitely an option if the neighbors keep parking in front of his mailbox.

But renting a mailbox might be easier.
It doesn’t seem fair to not have your mail delivered because your neighbor is inconsiderate. I know a lot of houses have their mailboxes next to the street where in theory the mailman doesn’t need to get out of his truck to deliver the mail, but I’ve also lived in neighborhoods where the mailboxes are attached to the houses and the mailman has to walk down the sidewalk to deliver mail.
This mailman seems lazy.
