Teenager Didn’t Eat the Meal Her Brother Cooked Because She Doesn’t Like Meat—So He Flipped Out on Her

Sibling rivalry is alive and well, folks!
And if you thought it ever went away…well, you’re just fooling yourself, now aren’t you?
As someone with a whole gaggle of brothers and sisters, I can tell you that we’ve all had our battles with each other, but I can’t remember anyone ever doing something like this.
The teenager who wrote this story clearly has some issues with her older brother…and it sounds like he’s a bit of a bully.
Let’s take a look at what she had to say about this!
AITA for not eating the meal my brother cooked?
“I (17 F) am quite a picky eater. It’s pretty well known. I am not big of most meats.
My brother (19 M) recently got into cooking. This is because my mom has been nagging him to do more around the house. He graduated high school last year and all he has done is work part time while living at home.
He sounds like quite a guy!
He doesn’t do most chores he is asked. My mom always complains about begging him to dishes. He doesn’t pay rent. The nagging from my mom lead him to deciding to contribute to the household food wise.
Originally he would just buy groceries that my mom can use to cook her usual meals. But recently he has been getting into cooking himself. It started with him just cooking his own food.
However, two weeks ago he decided to cook dinner for the family. This is when the issue started. He decided to make hamburgers.
She wasn’t feeling it…
The meat I dislike the most is hamburger meat. I just think it’s gross no matter how its seasoned.
I wasn’t aware he was cooking, let alone that it was hamburgers. I had just gotten home from being out with friends and went straight into the shower.
I take pretty long showers, talking 45 minutes to a hour. He was done by the time I got out. He had already made me a plate with a bunch of toppings.
This was odd…
I was surprised. Especially because it had ketchup which he knows I dislike (he used to mock me about it). I told him thanks but I’m not big on hamburgers. I thought he knew this, and it may be my fault to assume, but he use to call me the odd one out for it.
We live in a city known for its hamburgers and bbq, so he used to joke that I wasn’t born here (even though we both were). He didn’t respond well and got frustrated.
He basically responded along the lines of ” you just don’t want to eat my cooking”.
She was being pretty nice about it!
I tried reassuring him by say that if Gordon Ramsay made a burger, I still wouldn’t eat. He didn’t believe me and says I’m just doing it because I don’t like him. I was basically over it at that point and just said I wasn’t hungry.
About 30 minutes later I go to reheat some soup I had made the night before because I was actually hungry.
This guy needs to get a grip.
He walked in on me and exploded, basically calling me ungrateful for not eating what he already cooked me. I told him again that I didn’t and have never liked hamburgers.
He told me I should have still tried it because I never had his before. I basically told him I couldn’t care less about his feeling on what I do don’t like and I’m entitled to choose what I eat.
Which I guess is harsh, but it’s the truth.
I shouldn’t have to suffer threw a bite that would make me gag. Why should I have to eat something gross because someone made it for me? I never asked him to cook.
My brother has barely talked to me since. What I thought was a small issue turned into two weeks of the receiving the silent treatment.
We argue a lot but he has never respond like this. I don’t think I’m in the wrong and honestly don’t care to fix things.
I’m standing my ground.
AITA?”

I think her brother definitely did this on purpose!
The proof is in the pudding, as they say…
Maybe they’ll outgrow this rivalry…
Her brother sounds like a royal pain in the neck!
