Fisherman Catches and Releases Record Breaking 280-pound Catfish

Fisherman Dino Ferrari caught and released a Wels Catfish weighing 280-pounds (127 kg) and measuring 8 ft 9 in. (2.67 m) in length. The 280-pound behemoth is believed to be the largest catfish ever caught with a rod and reel.
Ferrari caught the fish on 19 February 2015 in the Po Delta, an area of the Po River which is the longest river in Italy. Ferrari told GrindTV the fish went for an artificial bait on the surface and that it took him 40 minutes to reel in.
Ferrari is sponsored by Sportex Italia and you can find many more amazing photos of Dino’s big catches on their Facebook page.
