I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…
Some people just don’t know how to listen!
And the guy you’re going to become acquainted with in this story from Reddit’s “I Don’t Work Here” page fits perfectly into that category.
Check out what happened!
I want you to meet my dog.
“I was sitting in my office one day minding my own business when my cell phone rang.
I answer, and the voice on the other line is my mother in law.
She informs me that she is stuck at work and the guy she pays to let out and feed her dog is unavailable to provide his services today.
Sure, why not?
I offer to swing by her place on my way home and take care of the dog.
Later that evening I get to her house, put the dog on his leash and take him to the back yard to do his business. As the dog is sniffing around the yard I notice the next door neighbor is outside cutting the grass.
These neighbors recently moved in, and I had not yet gotten the chance to introduce myself. He looks up from his lawn mower and sees me with the dog.
I smile and wave, he waves and yells something at me that I couldn’t really hear over the sound of his mower. He then proceeds to shut the mower off and go inside his house.
The neighbor returns about a minute later with a friendly looking golden retriever. The following interaction went something like this. M (me) N (neighbor).
Let’s get to know each other!
M: hi, you must be the new neighbor it’s nice to meet you.
N: I’m glad I ran into you! I want you to meet my dog. I’m going to be out of town for a couple days next week can you take care of him?
M: ummmm…… I’m really only doing this as a favor to my mother in law.
He wasn’t getting the picture…
N: but your the dog guy, it’s you’re job. I will pay you.
M: I’m not the “dog guy”, like I said I’m doing this as a favor.
N: so you’re not going to take care of my dog?
M: no…..
Then he just turned around and walked away. I guess what made this situation entertaining to me is that having just left the office I was still dressed in a dress shirt, slacks, and a tie.
I would have been the best dressed “dog guy” ever.”

This person had a lot to say.

Another individual was shocked.

And this Reddit user weighed in.

Some people out there have pretty thick skulls, huh?
