Another Parent At School Was Parked In The Pickup Lane, And When She Refused To Move, She Swore At Her In Front Of The Students

The pickup line at school can be a very busy place, and schools have set rules for how you are supposed to operate your vehicle to ensure pickup goes smoothly and to keep kids safe.

What would you do if another parent was parking in the pickup line in a way that blocked one of the lanes and slowed everyone down?

That is what happened to the parent in this story, so asking her to move nicely at first, she called her a ***** when she refused.

AITAH For Calling Lady Out at School Pick Up.

At my kid’s school there are 3 lanes into the school.

This seems like a pretty normal setup.

The two right lanes are for you to park and wait, and and the left one is a pass through lane so the kindergarden parents can go drive around to their designated pick up spot.

It also allows for people to pull out of the right two lanes and leave. The left lane also has a lane branching off that goes to a parking area with egress, where you can also pick up your kids.

The driver should be more courteous, especially with such a large vehicle.

Today, there was a lady in an extended Escalade who parked on the corner of the left lane and the parking lot lane, making it impossible to use the lane as the pass through lane to kindergarden and the exit.

This isn’t the first time I’ve seen her park on that corner, making it difficult to pass by her.

Nothing wrong with this, as long as it is done politely.

I got out of my car and knocked on her window and asked her if she could move her car because she was blocking the pass through lane. I don’t think I was rude.

Initially she closed her door like she was going to move. But as I was walking back to my car she got out and said the people behind her need to move (not sure how she thought this was possible).

If she can’t safely move, she shouldn’t stop there to begin with.

I told her she is blocking the pass through lane, so they can’t move.

She disregarded me and said she was here to pick up her kid and started walking over to the school.

This is out of line, especially in an area where there are obviously kids.

I then said “I dont understand why you have to be a ***** and act like you’re better than everyone else.”

Obviously she was unhappy, but she did move her car and said something else about me calling her a *****.

It isn’t really relevant if she was a teacher or not.

Another lady rolled down her window and said the lady I asked to move was a teacher at the school.

Seems unlikely to me, but kinda makes me laugh.

AITA?

Yes, for swearing in front of the kids and getting into a confrontation about something so trivial. Which is not to say the other lady shouldn’t change where she parks.

Two wrongs don’t make a right, even in the pickup lane.
