Folks…
This story is why couples therapy was invented!
Because the situation you’re about to explore is NOT a big deal…and it definitely shouldn’t be the basis for a fight.
But here we are, folks!
Check out what this woman had to say and see if you think her husband might be overreacting just a bit…
AITA for not immediately helping my husband with his parking?
“My husband is new to driving in the country (around 2 weeks) and he only moved here a month ago while I’ve been here for over 3 years, but I don’t drive, so I only know traffic regulations vaguely.
He’s a long-time driver in our home country, while I’m an occasional driver, in case that’s relevant.
The parking in front of our flat isn’t very good. It’s street parking with no guaranteed slots. He knew that one day, he wouldn’t be able to find a space directly in front of our flat and would have to find one a few minutes walk away.
We’ve talked about this specific issue numerous times before in case it ever came up and even tried to scout out other potential spots.
It was GO time.
Tonight was that night. There were no parking spaces when he got home from work and called me to tell me he parked in a “no parking” zone with the intent of moving when a slot becomes free.
I told him he shouldn’t do that, and then he asked me where he should park.
This wasn’t going well…
I tried to give him instructions over the phone, but he got increasingly stressed because he’s still not familiar with the area.
He tried to ask me several times to come out and help him find a parking spot, but I wasn’t really dressed for the cold.
Eventually, he ended up raising his voice at me, so I conceded and dressed up to help him look for a parking space
Now, he’s saying I’m the jerk because he needed to ask me several times to come out before I did.
AITA for hesitating?”
